Hill top paradise - Nelson nZ
Nestled in the stunning Port Hills with far reaching views, this frost free gem offered huge scope for the avid plant collectors that have made this their home. While boasting over 500 different plant species, the challenge was to design a garden that fuses the differing planting styles while maintaining a natural flow between spaces.
Inspired by gardens from South East Asia, the top section consists of a number of decks, steps, and bridges that drop down between levels of planting to give the feeling of being in a tree house. The rill that flows into a simple pond, cuts through this space to lead the eye out to the iconic view of The Cut Nelson.
From there the garden softens the waves of vertical hardwood sleepers dropping down to a secondary entertaining area which is bursting with vibrant Mediterranean plants and subtropical fruit trees.
wild Country GARDEN - RICHMOND NZ
This garden has a multi-leveled outdoor entertaining area that flows effortlessly from the living area to this relaxed nook. A journey to the country, but less than 10 metres from the house – The perfect spot to retreat with a cup of tea and a book.
From DONKEY PADDOCK TO Country PARADISE - AuCkland NZ
Most of this 4 acre garden started life as a donkey paddock. The first job was to remove the fences and gates to free the garden from its linear restraints. The pool offers a contemporary crisp feel that leads in a gently relaxed meander around the rest of the garden.
This garden is truly established now. We have recently been creating a network of soft flowing paths through the trees that we planted on the first visit. Talk about job satisfaction!
